As ECHL signings begin to roll out, the Toledo Walleye announced that they have signed AJ Jenks to a contract. Jenks, a 2008 4th round pick of the Florida Panthers, has spent the last two seasons splitting time between the Charlotte Checkers and the Florida Everblades. Prior to his stint with the Checkers, Jenks spent an entire season with the Rochester Americans before moving to the San Antonio Rampage when the Panthers switched their affiliations.
Jenks found himself in the Carolina Hurricanes system following a trade that sent him and Evgenii Dadonov to the Canes in exchange for Jon Matsumoto and Mattias Lindstrom. Jenks wasn’t re-signed following the expiration of his ELC during the 2013 offseason, but he still found time with the Checkers, on loan from the Everblades.
In 151 AHL games, Jenks has scored 15 goals and 23 assists. In 68 ECHL games between Florida and the Cincinnati Cyclones, Jenks has added 22 goals and 22 assists.
