Last night’s resounding victory at home for the Oklahoma City Barons was a welcome sight. Not so welcome is the continuation of injuries for some key elements to the Oilers farm team.
Colten Teubert, dealing with a nagging ankle injury sustained a week ago, continues to be out of the lineup. He mentioned (in a game interview) that it’s nothing severe, but bothersome enough to keep him out of the lineup for another week.
Likewise, Josh Green’s early season rib injury appears to have come full circle. He again is out possibly for the rest of the season, but is hopeful to return for the final homestand near the end of this month.
Both are injuries that shorten the bench just a bit, and are about as ill-advised as they come for both players. Teubert and Green are both having difficult seasons based purely on numbers. But their absence in the lineup immediately begs the rest of the team to fill the gaps in-game and game-to-game. And so far, so good – the team will prosper.
